It’s hard to believe that Evan weaned almost a year and a half ago, but it’s true. This is World Breastfeeding Week, and although we’ve moved on, I am still a supporter of breastfeeding mamas. To celebrate in my own way, I invite you to visit this throwback post, “Really? Really?” in which I discussed the funny things I heard while nursing.

The past few weeks I have noticed more and more mamas being proud and feeding their babes when and where they needed to. While I am not sure if society is just being more open than when I was nursing Evan or if moms are just being more open, it’s a great thing either way, right? Heather shared a great story about the support her family gives her while breastfeeding, and I only hope I can be that awesome of a grandmother (mother, sister, whatever the case may be). Kudos to Heather’s grandmother!

I chose to write about World Breastfeeding Week because I am a proud supporter of breastfeeding moms. This year’s theme is “close to mothers”, a theme about peer counseling and day-to-day support. Even though my nursing days are over (at least for now), I believe women need support and love throughout the entire journey. Nursing Mama? Need to talk? I’m here.
