Today, I am sharing a local gem with you, Deer Lakes Park. We’ve been there many times before, but this last trip was an eye opener–there’s a secret playground that is hands-down the best in the area. (Thanks to my co-worker for sharing it with me!) This post will also be posted on South Hills Mom, a blog about kid-friendly resources in Pittsburgh’s South Hills. Head on over and say hello for me, ok?
The ‘lil Man might have my vertigo issues.
The other day we decided to take advantage of a nice day and head to the park. The kids wanted to go on the Merry Go Round. This was a bad idea. Not once, but twice, Evan almost “went to sleep” as the merry go round spun. It was scary, but the boy didn’t let it get him down. Nope. There were stairs to climb, slides to slip down, and swings to push. Resilient.
Taking baby steps sometimes comes with oopsies. ‘lil Man found that out yesterday. He was way too excited about the spring weather and took off running down the sidewalk. Luckily, Mr. Burgher was there to catch him when he took a little fall.
But, later in the evening, you sure couldn’t tell he had a oops in his day.
