Glad It’s (Sorta) Over

I can’t find anywhere that I blogged specifically about this, but this past spring, I was diagnosed with vertigo post our trip to Las Vegas. First, I went to the local walk in clinic and ruled out an ear infection. When the PA asked me to lie back on the table, she watched my eyes twitch and roll…which immediately paired with my other symptoms, led her to believe I had vertigo.

This resulted in a battery of tests under the care of an ENT, but never any answers as to what caused or brought on my vertigo. I wasn’t able to drive for months (which was a big pain), but eventually worked myself up to driving. Sometimes turning one way or another or long car rides still bring on the vertigo (but luckily I now have exercises and medicine I can use to deal with the vertigo).

When we went to Kennywood, I really wanted to enjoy the day with our kids. Luckily, with the help of my medicine and eye control, I was able to enjoy this moment with our ‘lil girl on the Kiddieland turtles. I am really glad it’s (sorta) over and I don’t feel crippled by the vertigo anymore!

It’s Funny What You Capture

…when you’re trying to photograph something else.

Ever since we got Mr. Canon (our DSLR), Mr. Burgher and I have been messing with the settings, trying to learn how it takes pics in different settings. We get a lot of great tips here on the interwebs, but we’ve found that experience usually is the best way to learn.

While we were at Kennywood, I worked on trying to take “sports action” shots manually. This wonderful gem of a face (compliments of Mr. Burgher) is just one of the odd shots captured that day. He’s going to love me for sharing this, I am sure! 😉
