On Meeting Two Pittsburgh Icons

Last week, I got a chance to be in the audience for “No Fee TV” and watch the live taping of Edgar Snyder and Pittsburgh Dad talking about social media, Pittsburgh, and laws. Below is a behind the scenes video (courtesy of Edgar Snyder) as well as a link to the entire episode (in case you weren’t watching on Tuesday night!).

The evening was exciting–I’ve never been in any of our news studios, and WPXI is pretty interesting. The floor is lifted so that miles (600?) of cable run underneath it. The studio PCNC shoots “No Fee TV” in has the old studios HUGE doors on one end (I felt SO tiny). And the cameras? They are robotic. I expected them to be ran by someone, but nope! They moved as needed and held digital prompters. It was quite interesting.

And Shelley, Mr. Snyder, and Pittsburgh Dad are all entertaining. They asked what I blogged about, and assured me that even when the ‘lil Burghers are no longer little, there will still be blog fodder.

Plus, I got to see some fellow bloggers that I haven’t seen in awhile and meet Katie, Mr. Snyder’s Digital Media Specialist (jealous!). What a fun night.

Pittsburgh Dad to Join Edgar Snyder on “No Fee TV” March 5 (#Giveaway)

Update: Congrats to Tiffany, winner of the Essential Yinzer package. Here’s the Random Number Generator used to pull her #:

Pittsburghers will agree, we have a great set of Pittsburgh Icons. Just think about it…Franco Harris, Mr. Rogers (can’t believe it’s been 10 years since he passed), Mario Lemieux, Edgar Snyder, and Pittsburgh Dad. Am I right?

Coming up on Tuesday (March 5), Edgar Snyder (you know, “There’s never a  fee unless we get money for YOU!”) and Pittsburgh Dad will meet on Edgar Snyder’s “No Fee TV”. They’ll be talking about Pittsburgh and social media (two of my loves) during Attorney Snyder’s show on PCNC-TV. This is exciting for me because I grew up recognizing Attorney Snyder from his commercials (they STUCK with me!) and as a parent who had a “Pittsburgh Dad”, Curt’s social media and YouTube Channel are so easy to connect with.

This year marks the 30th year of advertising for Edgar Snyder & Associates, the Pittsburgh-based law firm that helps accident victims throughout western Pennsylvania. For those who grew up in the region, seeing Attorney Snyder’s face on television commercials was a common childhood experience. The Pittsburgh Dad video series captures these types of nostalgic memories shared by those who call Pittsburgh home.

(from today’s Press Release)

I’ll be a member of the audience as Attorney Snyder and Curt (Pittsburgh Dad) answer questions from callers and social media shout-outs (on Twitter use #NoFeeTv or post them on Edgar Snyder’s Facebook). “No Fee TV” is an interactive show that is hosted by Shelley Duffy (another Pittsburgh Icon from the radio) and answers audience (live and from your home) questions about legal issues. I’m looking forward to hearing what they have to say about how social media has helped both of these icons reach their audiences.

Hopefully you’ll tune in on Tuesday at 7:30 PM (PCNC-TV), but if you aren’t local or cannot watch, you’ll be able to check it out on Edgar Synder & Associates YouTube on Wednesday. Or maybe you’ll send in a question…and I have a bonus for you if you do! Edgar Snyder and Pittsburgh Dad have put together a fun Pittsburgh giveaway for you.

Enter by leaving me a comment answering this question: “If you could ask Attorney Edgar Snyder or Pittsburgh Dad one question, what would it be?”

The winner will be drawn by random number generator and ends on Tuesday, March 5 at 5:00 PM (I’ll reach out to the winner before I head to the studio). Good luck!

Here’s what you’ll win in this Essential Yinzer prize pack:

  • Pittsburgh Dad DVD
  • Terrible Towel
  • Edgar Snyder T-Shirt & Mug
  • “N’@” bumper stickers and Pittsburgh goodies

Disclaimer: In exchange for this review, I’ll be getting a prize pack; however, my opinions of the awesomeness of these two ‘Burghers are 100% my own.
