Today, I am thankful for dry shampoo. I know that sounds so greedy first-world, but it’s admittedly true. The past few days have been a whirlwind where every second counted and that meant some of my hygiene processes had to be tossed to the side or changed up. (Eww, I sound so gross, but I promise you’ll understand.)
The holiday weekend started with me working one of my side jobs until late in the evening. I had just settled into a good sleep when Arianna came to our room.
Daddy? I barfed.
Ugh. It had to happen then, on a holiday, right? We tag-teamed the cleanup efforts (which took nearly an hour before the three of us had all been showered and put back in clean pjs (but I didn’t wash my hair because it was pulled back before stepping in to clean).
Thankfully, the big girl woke up just fine and ready to eat on Thanksgiving. I, however, was not ready to get out of bed. Between needing a workout and to get all the side dishes moving, I simply didn’t have time to wash my hair before my brother and parents arrived for lunch. I was able to sneak upstairs and use my Monat dry shampoo (which is appropriately named, THE CHAMP) to get my hair looking fresh and clean. Phew.
After stuffing ourselves, we headed out to do some shopping then I showered before bed. When I woke up on Friday, my hair needed some help to look fresh, so I used THE CHAMP Conditioning Dry Shampoo again before heading back to the stores and to see a movie. Again, I was saved.
Saturday was a blah day for me – I felt a cold coming on and was just not in a great mood. That meant waking up on Sunday for church was a little tougher than most days. Top it off, we had a little scare with Miss Ava that put me in a hyper-helicopter mom mode. To say I’ll probably be needing help from my dry shampoo again tomorrow is probably truth.
I know it seems odd to be thankful for something so simple, but in this busy holiday season, any extra seconds I get with my kids and husband are going to be taken. If that means I get to use my resources like Monat’s Dry Shampoo to do so, so be it!
