This spring as we prepared the yard for fun, it was clear our outdoor toys needed some love. Just in time for some spring cleaning, I was sent a sample of Soft Scrub Mold and Mildew (which you can use to “make surfaces happy”!).
This new Soft Scrub product would probably be great to use in the bathroom or the kitchen (honestly, what it’s marketed for) because it was formulated to fight mold and mildew. Instead, I chose to attack this lovely smattering of mildew on our kids’ picnic table:
Following the directions were easy. You spray it on, and then rinse it off (in my case, I used a wet cloth). Viola. Mold and mildew pretty much disappear. For the most part, this was true. There were a few spots that took some elbow grease, but nothing too difficult. As you can see, it worked.
The spray is actually a gel that while it’s sitting on the mold and mildew “clings to stains” to cut out the grime. Based on what it did on my plastic outdoor toys, I am sure it would be great to clean shower tiles (but I haven’t stopped for long enough to give it a try, advance apologies to my soon to arrive guests). And even if it takes a while to set into the stains, there are no harsh fumes.
As you’re looking for a household cleaning product to fight the grime, considering the new Soft Scrub Mold and Mildew is worth the try.
