Disclosure: I was invited to an event at See’s Candies new location at the Ross Park Mall. All opinions are 100% my own.

Oh, chocolate lovers. Be prepared to drool.

Pittsburgh chocolate lovers, the good news? You, too, can indulge in some See’s Candies any time you’d like – their newest location at Ross Park Mall (across from the food court) had their Grand Opening on Friday morning.

Not located in Pittsburgh? No fear. See’s Candies is new to us in the store format – we’ve had mall kiosks, but this is the first store to open. Around the holidays, you might be able to find a kiosk in your mall or airport, but odds are there’s a See’s near you (check out their finder to be sure).

And better yet? If you have a store near you, and want to sample, all you have to do is ask. See’s Candies gladly gives out samples to anyone who walks into their store. See something you’d like to try before you buy? Just ask.

To be honest, I can’t even tell you what all I tasted when I was in the store. For sure, I tried the Milk Bordeaux (a best seller), Key Lime, Pumpkin Pie, Apple Pie, and Raspberry Creme truffles. Don’t even think about the calories, I tried not to. But the chocolate was honestly so fresh and amazing, I really don’t know if I’ll ever be able to eat any other chocolate without comparing it to this heavenly deliciousness. I can’t be blamed.

Not a huge chocolate fan? No worries. They have peanut brittle (Greg’s favorite, I think), nuts, lollipops (which last a really long time), sours, and other treats. So much to chose from! (And of course, gift cards should you need to, you know get a great blogger friend a gift.)

Right now, the store is set for Halloween, I am definitely going back to check out the Christmas prep!

All boxes are hand packed, just like the “I Love Lucy” episode (which was actually filmed at the See’s plant!). Automation just doesn’t look as good. They hand dip the bon bons, too. We all got a chance to try our hand at boxing chocolates like Lucy. Greg and I were NOT great at this activity, coming in dead last. (Maybe if I wasn’t taking photos?)

Hungry? Get yourself to See’s Candies and ask for a sample. Then take home a box. You can buy one piece, three, pieces, or 10 pounds (or any combination you’d like of any flavor they have in the store). Not picky? Grab a pre-made box that is just as fresh. You won’t be sorry…just take a few extra laps around the mall to balance it out (that’s what I did). 🙂

Check out or “Like” them on Facebook. If you’re really brave and have good self control, their Pinterest is for you!
