This post is brought to you by the NaBloPoMo July prompts from BlogHer. This month, I am writing about connections.

Today’s Prompt:  If you were trapped in an elevator, which three bloggers would you most want with you in that situation?

Okay, confession time. I have some major blog crushes (and I am really looking forward to meeting with you in two weeks). All the bloggers I follow I truly heart, but this post asked me to select three bloggers and that’s all I get. Ya know, NaBloPoMo, you can fit more than three bloggers in one elevator (I digress). Since you all couldn’t make my list, I may as well explain why these three made it.

Lindsay, of Confessions of a Human Vacuum, is a Pittsburgh Blogger who I met at PodCamp Pittsburgh 5. Her life story is amazing, she’s a strong woman, and for that alone my heart is full when we do happen to meet in real life. Beyond that, she LOVES food (and exercises by playing volleyball and running) to keep it from hindering her strong body. Lindsay is a faithful blogger, which is what I want to be. She posts daily photos of something that happened, usually of the amazing food she ate or served at her weekend job. She’s humble, funny, adorable, and an all-around good Pittsburgh’er. Hopefully we get to hang out together more soon. If she were trapped with us in the elevator, I’m sure she’d have a funny story to tell or a delicious leftover from the Strip District in her pocket to share.

Jen, of Life With Levi, shouldn’t be unfamiliar to any of you on this here blog. It’s too bad she’s not a Pittsburgher, but I forgive her. 🙂 Our relationship started when Evan was a baby. She was one of the strongest supporters of breastfeeding I found on Twitter, and she even had a Blog Hop about it (which you may remember I posted to weekly until ‘lil Man weaned for big man food). Jen accepted my application to blog for her on her site, allowing me to make connections with brands and get my foot in the door with product reviews. She’s even been so kind to let me room with her at BlogHer, for that I am forever grateful. But even more, something she may not know, we are fairly similar. We both do data analysis for our day jobs. We love dogs and our ‘lil boys. We love Pirates, she real Pirates, me my hometown team. While I will be the shy, quiet one of our bunch at the conference, she will be the life of the party and help me grow as a blogger. I think she’d bring so much to our elevator conversations, and at the very least, pass us something yummy to drink to pass the time on the ride.

And Michelle, of Burgh Baby. How do you talk about Pittsburgh Bloggers and not think of Michelle? While Michelle and I are both on the shy side, Michelle has been a mentor to me (whether she realizes it or not) ever since I found her blog while I was pregnant with Arianna. Her stories were funny, her memories for her A precious. Her photos? GORGEOUS. (You’ve seen her work, she does our family photos, the kids’ birthdays, and Evan is the smash cake baby behind her photography business.) The blogging superstar, she’d have wisdom for us but she’d also have fun with us. She’d probably whip out her fancy camera and snap some awesome photos, too. Just no hugs or anything pink and puffy.

While I wish all my favorite bloggers could join our party of four, this will have to do for now. I think it’d be a blast, don’t you?

Do you have favorite bloggers you’d like to meet in person or be trapped in an elevator with? Do share! I want to follow them, too.

  1. When I read the title on Twitter, I was like, “Wait, when did that happen?! Is my memory that bad?” and then I read the post and got all flubby-emotional.
Thanks, friend, and I can’t wait to see you guys this fall! 🙂
