Monster Jam Pittsburgh

I’m sure if you’ve been following me on social media you’re well aware that we took the kids to a crazy fun event last night. If you’ve guessed that this fun event was Monster Jam Pittsburgh, then you are right!

To say this family date was AMAZING is an understatement.

As long as I can tell, I’ve been wanting to check out Monster Jam, so of course, I’m so glad I not only got a chance to take the big kids and Greg to see it right here in Pittsburgh.

The tingles. I had them.

As the trucks started to rev up, my heart started pounding and my eyes started tearing up – it was the best feeling watching Arianna and Evan get so excited about what they would watch (pretty much without turning their eyes away) for almost two hours.

There were four competitions between eight trucks. It was all heart pumping excitement – exactly what Greg and I had hoped for! Some of our favorite moments…

  • We got to see the iconic Grave Digger® come out and take three of the four trophies.
  • We cheered as the underdogs (“young guns”) gave him a fight for his spot at the top.
  • We were amazed at how Backwards Bob drove with his truck body facing the “wrong way”.
  • We disagreed with some of the judges’ scores, and laughed knowing we couldn’t change their minds.
  • We were bummed as two of our favorites couldn’t finish the Freestyle competition due to a flat tire and a roll over.
  • We came home full of dusty lungs and happy memories!

If you’re interested in checking out Monster Jam while the show is in Pittsburgh, you’ve got two chances left (one is super short notice – but maybe you’re close to Consol and can pull it off!)…or check out to find out when they are in another city near you!

Event Schedule:

Sunday, February 14 at 2pm; Pit Party at 11am-12:30pm (must have ticket to 2pm event to attend)

Pss! If you do go – your ‘lil ones might want to have some headphones with them. We opted to buy ahead, but they do sell them at the show. Here are the ones we ordered:
