On Friday, the Twins turned 17 months old (don’t worry, we’re still in denial over here, too). It was a whirlwind month with the girls amazing us more every day.
Ava started walking five days after turning 16 months old. That might have something to do with the whirlwind. We are now chasing them in two different directions. Baby proofing is officially vital. At play time she has had to go into isolation of her own playpen because she continued to bite Isla. Most recently, she’s put her pacifier to the side. It’s no longer attached to her day and night. She went four nights without it before uncovering it from under her crib mattress on Friday night (but promptly told it “night” on Saturday morning). Her favorite thing is “Number of the Day” from Sesame Street.
The twins are seriously on the move, sometimes to the point it is scary.
Isla. She has no fear. Climbing on top of piled up toys? Check. Toddling around in the rain at the park? No problem. Grabbing the big kids’ pointy toys (like drumsticks) and running with them. Right up there with staring at outlets to see who is watching. Sigh.
All it took was some encouragement and a blog post about her not walking, and she did it. Ava took her first steps on Sunday afternoon, so now we have got two walkers on our hands.
Look out, world. Here she comes!
Happy National Twin Day from our twins!
Today is just another Thursday. It’s been a busy week of work and play and VBS, and we’ve just about made it through to another weekend.
Crazy how time flies these days. The weekends, always faster than ever, right?
Last night, our cell phone service was down. This isn’t usually a problem, but Greg and my brother were off buying things they need for the fence building that is taking place this weekend. There were questions that needed answered and my bars just glared at me in emptiness. Instead of taking the time to be thankful for the blessing, I got upset and took to the Twitters. Sigh. So many books to read, words to write, and there I was complaining about undistracted time to do them.
Sixteen Months. No way, right? There is no way that the twins are sixteen months old today.
I mean, weren’t we just celebrating Sisters Day with them when they turned four months?
Oh. Well. I guess a year really has passed. That’s what happens when you are busy watching two ‘lil girls grow up.
…she will move mountains.
Our Ava is already moving mountains. From being “failure to thrive” to taking up most of the playpen that she is supposed to share with her twin.
This girl, our quiet yet fierce sweetheart.
Hope you’ve had a very happy Fourth of July!
The Bigs enjoyed running around an obstacle race with their cousins…in the rain…and the Littles refused to nap. Very independent, indeed.
May you stay safe while continuing to enjoy your freedoms tonight.
I asked Ava to say cheese and this is what I got…
…an extremely happy baby who couldn’t stop cheesin’ it.
It’s a sure sign I need to get my big girl camera out and do some real snapping. Or set some goals and earn myself my dream lens so I am not using just the kit lens or the set focal length 50.
